I'm supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

Please join me in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) by making a donation to my fundraising campaign. Thanks to your support, my efforts, will help fund the therapies and treatments and help save lives today.

LLS's continued advancements over the years, are responsible for the blood cancer survival rate doubling and tripling; in some cases, the survival rate has even quadrupled.

And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers. They're even being tested in clinical trials for patients with a range of cancers including lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. LLS funded drugs are now being tested for patients with other non-cancerous diseases like Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis.

We really are changing the face of blood cancer!

All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS research but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well.

Please visit my Web site often and bring friends who would also like to donate!

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere I thank you for your support!

Rest today, Walk tomorrow!

Sunday 9th Jun
So I took yesterday, not by choice, because my body told me it was time. Now, I must saying that I’ve been intentionally walking for 7 days straight with no break. I’m guessing that’s the reason why I crash at 9pm or sooner every night 😂. But yesterday, upon getting out of bed.. my body said “not today!”. And pinned me down on my mattress. You would thought I was in a wrestling match  ok, let me try again.. I went to get up and this time, I was able to fully get out of bed! But in no time, found myself back in the bed! I said to myself “self, maybe I need to rest?” Myself said to me “Rest today, Walk tomorrow”.
Today, I just walked 4 miles… I needed that rest ❤️

Hey Siri

Tuesday 4th Jun
At the tender age of (cough cough) I’ve realized how essential stretching is. The first day after my first walk, my body felt like I just ran a marathon 😂 how???? I paced myself, I felt like I wasn’t “over doing it” as a friend of mine suggested. “AND WHY ARE MY SHOULDER’S SORE? I’m walking not doing a hand stand!!!” I  mentioned to my colleague ( who is also a chiropractor) from the depths of pure exhaustion. She laughed and said “you’re probably walking with your neck forward, you gotta keep your posture right”….. later that evening..

“Hey Siri.. how do you walk right?”🤦🏽‍♀️

Why did I do this?

Monday 3rd Jun
Good morning, once again I get up and start my morning routine. The only thing that’s different is me walking. I usually workout with a trainer on the weekends however, this is different. As I walk up my first small hill I think to myself “did I really sign up for this torture?”.
With 3k steps down I  get back to my house, stretch and get ready for work, make breakfast and jet out the house. Upon arrival to my job I spark up a conversation with the receptionist. “Good morning how are you?” I say. She responds “I’m good, everything is kinda out of size order (referring to scrubs) but I have your size here”. I grab my scrubs and shift my weight from on leg to the other. “My legs are on fire and it’s only 7:30am” she laughs and ask why… I began to tell her about my journey of walking 100 miles in June for The  Leukemia & lymphoma society. She paused and looked at me with a smile and said “Thank you, my dad has Lymphoma”.  Now, because we were separated by a glass I couldn’t hug her.. but I wanted to.. At that very moment my question was answered “Why did I do this?”… This is why..

You’re Welcome Sis! ❤️

My last day of eating Sour Patch Watermelon!

Friday 31st May
Good morning, This morning I got up and did my regular morning routine.. On my way to work I stopped at Quick Chek for a cup of coffee. I glanced over and saw my fav “Sour Patch Watermelon Candy” I had to treat myself and I did! Today is  my last day of making spontaneous decisions, my last day to splurge on empty calories and sugar! Starting tomorrow my steps will be……INTENTIONAL!
