I'm supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

Please join me in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) by making a donation to my fundraising campaign. Thanks to your support, my efforts, will help fund the therapies and treatments and help save lives today.

LLS's continued advancements over the years, are responsible for the blood cancer survival rate doubling and tripling; in some cases, the survival rate has even quadrupled.

And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers. They're even being tested in clinical trials for patients with a range of cancers including lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. LLS funded drugs are now being tested for patients with other non-cancerous diseases like Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis.

We really are changing the face of blood cancer!

All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS research but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well.

Please visit my Web site often and bring friends who would also like to donate!

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere I thank you for your support!

My Updates

One week down

Saturday 8th Jun
Despite missing a day and only going for one walk on the next day after my shingles shot I still managed to walk 29.9 miles in 6 days.  I do need to make up the four miles I missed in order to achieve my goal of 100 miles in 21 days.

Disppointed

Wednesday 5th Jun
I had my first shingles shot on Monday.  I have walked but not nearly as much as I intended to.  Feeling tired and worn out.  Hoping this will wear off soon.  Still want to reach my goal of 100 miles in 21 days.

Intentions

Friday 31st May
Since we all probably know someone whose family has been affected by cancer, or we have someone in our family who has had cancer I decided to participate in Walk 100 Miles in June Challenge.

I plan on walking 4-5 miles each day.  I walk with a neighbour several times a week and we generally end up walking around 4 miles.  If I only walk 4 miles a day I will have reached 100 miles in 25 days.  Or, if I can make it 5 miles per day it will take me 20 days to complete the 100 miles challenge.

Whatever the weather, I'll be walking - besides it's refreshing to walk in the rain :)  I will update my mileage at least two to three times a week.

I hope you can assist in some small way to help fund raise for a worthy cause.
